One to One 2 day Intense Wax Carving - £600
The two day intense One to One class is perfect for those wanting to get into jewellery making and those wanting to broaden their abilities with some extra insight. Learn about the processes that go into hand carving & casting wax into metal through this ancient practice. This class is personalised to suit your desires, you bring your design and I show you how to make it. Learn how to use different waxes, about the process and how to make your own tools which could take your wax carving to another level, because with the right tools you can do anything. There are so many different approaches to jewellery making and this workshop also explains the fundamentals of working in metal in all its shapes and forms. At the end of the course I also offer a list with tools I recommend, so you don’t buy tools you don’t need and suppliers you can purchase them at the best price, saving you time and money. Dates for this course are open and flexible to suit our timetable.

One to One 1 day - Wax Carving Class - £300
This 1 day One to One class focuses on the practice of wax carving & the processes that go into hand carving & casting wax into metal through this ancient practice. This class is personalised to suit your desires, you bring your design & I show you how to make it. Here you will learn how to carve a simple design of your choice in wax which you then take away to have cast. This class focusses on carving in green wax, however you will also learn about many different waxes, their properties and their benefits. Because this is a day class there will be no time for tool making as with the 2 day class, however I can show you examples of the tools I have made & give you simple instructions on how to make them in your own time. At the end of the course I also offer a list with tools I recommend, so you don’t buy tools you don’t need and suppliers you can purchase them at the best price, saving you time and money. If after the first day you decide you want to do the second day this is also possible and the price would be adjusted to the 2 day option. Dates for this course are open and flexible to suit our timetable. Dates are based on 3 or more students booking this class.
Please note the cost of casting is not included in the classes although all relevant advice and information is given. For beginners this may involve another day class learning to clean and polish your metal piece, this can be discussed in advance.
