The Marionette Necklace is called Skia meaning ‘Shadow or Shade caused by the interception of light’ and was conceived through a character I developed whilst studying Fine Art where I dress as a shadow puppet who had a life of her own - Skia.

This is an art piece, a show stopper and most definitely a talking piece at any event.

Recently exhibited at Goldsmiths Fair 2021 & 2022, featured in Vanity Fair and Vogue editors top selection at Goldsmith Fair 2021. The chain is available in Sterling silver and 18kt Gold Vermeil plated on sterling silver as pictured.

Inspired by reading Plato’s cave simile I became fascinated by the shadow and it’s presence and depiction in art. Having studied jewellery making prior to my fine art course my jewellery practice has hugely influenced my art practice and vice versa. Combined with a fascination with kinetic toys and wearable art this piece is a combination of ideas which have taken a year to develop to this stage of a functioning marionette in solid silver which can also be worn as a necklace.
