The De Lempicka Ring explores the female face through the stylised forms of Art Deco portraiture. Characterised by sculptural contours, flowing hair and idealised features, the female face has been depicted in diverse ways across cultures and throughout history, with the interplay of light and shadow emphasising form, elegance and individuality.

Hand-carved in wax and cast using the lost-wax process, the ring draws on a tradition shared by jewellery making and bronze sculpture. Translating the visual qualities of portraiture into a miniature sculptural form, it explores the relationship between art, material and personal adornment.
