Delphinum Necklace

Delphinum Necklace
The Delphinum Necklace is named after a photographic plant study of the same name, captured by the artist, Karl Blossfeldt.
Using the Japanese wax sculpting technique, misturo hikime, I was able to capture the flow and essence of his studies through the spontaineous process of folding, forming, and stretching the wax to create intricate and textured elements which I then composed into the separate links of this necklace.
The elements have been lost wax cast into sterling and no mould has been made making this piece a valuable, unique, one of a kind piece. The elements have been joined to give the impression that they suspended and the clasp is formed by interlocking curls.
Having studied jewellery making prior to my fine art course my jewellery practice has hugely influenced my art practice and vice versa. This piece has been created to be a wearable piece of art, a statement piece and a wonderful talking point at any event.
Due to the limited nature of this piece, if you are interested in purchasing the Delphinium necklace, I recommend placing your order soon. A similar design concept may be created in future however it will not be the same and each piece will be made from scratch and no mould will be made.
