The Angel Ring explores the human face as a subject of artistic interpretation, distilling its features into a simplified sculptural form. Through the interplay of light and shadow across its contours, the face conveys a sense of stillness, introspection and timeless presence.

Hand-carved in wax and cast using the lost-wax process, the ring draws a connection between the carving of wax and the chiselling of stone in sculpture. Both processes reveal form through the removal and refinement of material, translating the human figure into a sculptural object, and exploring the relationship between art, material and personal adornment.
