Jade Angel Ring

Jade Angel Ring

£4,950.00

The Jade Angel Ring explores the language of facial expressions and interpretation through the medium of stone, drawing a connection between the body, the natural world and the enduring history of sculpture. Hand-carved from jade, the face exists somewhere between portrait and artefact, its presence emerging from the material rather than imposed upon it.

The choice of stone shifts the work beyond the traditional language of jewellery. Unlike metal, which can be forged, melted and transformed into solid forms, the translucence of the stone adds depth and carries its own history, shaped by geological time and the forces of the natural world. Carving becomes an act of discovery, revealing a face from within a material that existed long before it took this form. The resulting figure holds a sense of permanence and quiet presence, its expression inseparable from the character of the jade itself.

A 14kt gold ring insert introduces a contrasting material language, bringing the precision and luminosity of precious metal into dialogue with the organic qualities of stone. Together, these materials create a meeting point between the natural and the crafted, the ancient and the contemporary.

One of a kind, the Jade Face Ring considers the face as both a familiar human presence and an enduring sculptural form. Through the act of carving, jewellery becomes a vessel for the material, carrying traces of geological time, human intervention and the continuing impulse to give form to the figure.
